8 Secrets of Success.

Richard St John is a success expert. He wrote a book called “The 8 Traits Successful People Have in Common”. It deals of what he calls the “8 to be great”. Passion, work, focus, push, ideas, improve, serve, and persit are, according to him, the 8 secrets of success.

The success is not just similar that in the domain of the work, we can also associate it with the social success and with many other domains in which we evolve. I think that the main thing is the well-being.  The success depends not only on the outside gratitude that it can bring us, but also of the pride of the personal experience which it gets to us.
The most mattering it is to be happy and we are happy when our life has a sense, when it is in adequacy with the fact that we represent ourselves and what holds us heart. For some it is the social success, a good job, a good salary, for the others a love life or of well filled family, the others else will content with taking advantage of small moments of happiness from day to day with friends or by cultivating their passions whereas the others will like running after the challenges. There are so possibilities...
To us to discover what motivates us.

The important it is not only where we go, but it is also the road which we borrow to go there. Never lose sight of the main part. Remember what is really important. Fight to obtain what we want. Never give lower the arms. Rely on those who surround us. Move forward in spite of the obstacles. Never forget that what goes around comes around. Keep head up. Re-crack himself of never regret anything, because at one time, it was really what we wanted.
And for those who get lost in this quest, keep hope: One day, we smile again.

Informal Letter.

Wednesday, November 09, 2011
               Dear Arnaud,

As you know it, I was in Canada during the holidays and I have so things to say to you that about it, so I write you a letter. First of all, I think you remember that I undertook this journey to discover an English-speaking country (other one than England, where we went together). And what I discovered so pleased me that we have to return it both. I did not think of being so disoriented, because it was a French colony before the British conquest, what makes of Canada a bilingual and multicultural nation; French and English being, in equal status, the official languages. And I believe that it is this point which most interested me.

The Canadian culture is historically influenced by the cultures and the English, French, Irish, Scottish and native traditions, as well as by the American culture because of the nearness and the exchanges between both countries. It is what makes of her a unique culture. And we cannot speak about the Canadian culture without speaking about the presence of the art (and I know that this aspect will interest you particularly). Whether it is by its musical or film culture, Canada imposes its contemporaneousness. I was able to see exhibitions of very innovative photos. But what I preferred above all, and you have to suspect it, it is the dance. Canada is the homeland of companies of ballet of world reputation as Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Big Canadian Ballets and the national Ballet of Canada. And I was able to take advantage of it completely.
And you remember obviously pancakes that I prepared you in France on Sunday morning... The maple syrup which we buy has nothing to do with that of Canada. I was lucky to eat at inhabitant's, traditional lunch. You know yourself as I like eating. It was a real feast. The classic breakfast consists of egg, potatoes, fruits, ham or bacon, and of toast with jams of all kinds. We can also add cereal, with some yoghurt or the cottage cheese and also muffins. But for me traditional pancakes accompanied with a maple syrup house remain by far the best breakfast.

So things to be still told… It is going to need to save up, because I absolutely want to return there and to share all these things with you.

See you soon. XOXO.

Top tips for freshers.

You go out of the high school, arrive in a new establishment, particularly different. It is obvious that you will settle hundreds of questions.
Freshers, welcome to the university !

For your first year, it is essential to soak you on this new atmosphere. Your future is between your hands.
In the first place, spot the main places and the persons to whom you send in case of problem. There will be for it some conferences and meetings, sorts of pre-comebacks which shall allow you to get acquainted with the administration. You will also meet the BDE, it is a pupils' association which know since a certain number of years the university and its functioning. The BDE will guide you towards the good persons, and will know how to learn you to integrate the university, by the way of exits, evenings of integration... You can find a large number of informations concerning the means of integrations in the various meeting places which are in the establishment. You will always meet bulletin boards of all kinds (evenings, request / offer of accommodation / work...). It is very important to meet, not to remain alone. Have friend, bring out little. Be sociable and natural, the students are thirsty of meeting, you will quickly discover it.
It is also important to familiarize you with the working rhythm. You will have a more or less supported timetable, to you to manage your personal work. Forget your prejudices on the faculty, the higher education asks for a considerable investment, no matter the sector.
I also advise you to find a sports activity. It can be the means to meet the other students, to widen your circle of knowledge, but also of you let off stream a little, and to keep a good health. Difficult to eat balanced when we are student. Not always the time to go to the university canteen, you will be bored in front of sandwiches and paninis fat... Bad idea. Put you in the cooking ! Concoct your own meal and take it with you. Your body will be grateful to you for it, and you too. It is not the moment to have a depression because of your cellulite.
You can also find a job,  that will allow you to put some money aside, to help your relatives to finance the expenses which costs the student life, either to please you from time to time...

To conclude, move, inquire, put a lot, and do not forget that you are not there to party, but to work.
I wish you a happy new school year. Let's have fun, while keeping your seriousness.

Where you can go.

There is a good place in Grenoble where you can go with your friend that I advise to you.

If you like party, meet people, you can go to the LONDON PUB. It is not just a bar to drink some alcohol (although, this side, the prices are very interesting: I am talking about Happy Hours). Most of the students meet low there, to cross an evening with friends. We find a festive atmosphere there. Because many are foreign, students go there to meet, in many theme evenings. Really nice and welcoming place, where you can dance too, listen to Pop Rock music. The waiters are pleasant and available for any service. Certainly, the bar is rather small, and sometimes one feels cramped by entering it but once inside, we feel good there. It is considered as one of the oldest bar of Grenoble. We feel there as at home.
I am sure that with your friend you will feel comfortable, because, as indicates it the name, it is an English bar.
That will change exits to the museum.
Enjoy it.

To go there, you just have to take the TRAM and to arrest you at the rulling Notre-Dame Museum, you cross the Place Notre-Dame, walk past the cathedral. Then, turn to the right and commite you in the street of Brocherie. You will recognize the pub, with its red facade. To reach in, you will enter even an English phone box !
